Nationwide “Selfie-Style” Station Advertisements

The campaign’s station advertisements feature Junsei Motojima, Mizuho Shiramiya, and Jo Hirakawa, who garnered significant support from Generation Z for their roles as high school students in the first campaign’s short drama, “Aoi no Canon.” The ads utilize “selfie-style” photos and candid off-shots taken by the cast members, capturing their authentic expressions rather than overly produced images. The design intends to offer a sense of warmth and reassurance to exam takers, allowing them to feel that “the time spent so far will become confidence.”

These posters, displayed at stations nearest to exam venues across the country, incorporate “voices of the heart” that students might have experienced during their preparation, such as:

  • “Saw a friend at the library and felt motivated.”

  • “Past exam questions I couldn’t solve before are now easy.”

  • “Getting lonely thinking I won’t see my friends when I live alone.”

In Tokyo and Kanagawa prefectures, different combinations of photos and messages are deployed in various areas, allowing people to enjoy the trio’s varying expressions and messages depending on the location.

Web Video “Aoi no Canon ~Yume e to Tsuzuku Shiken~” and Special Interview

Alongside the station campaign, a new web video titled “Aoi no Canon ~Yume e to Tsuzuku Shiken~” has been released on Citizen’s official YouTube channel. This video re-edits the original “Aoi no Canon” from the perspective of Sora, played by Junsei Motojima, depicting his journey of rediscovering his dream of working in space and pursuing it through exams, after grappling with his future path.

The video captures the delicate emotional fluctuations of students nearing graduation—a period filled with anxiety, anticipation, and the pressure of accumulated efforts. It culminates in Sora’s decision to “not run away from his dream” as he heads to the exam venue. The sound of the ticking second hand on his watch as he prepares signifies that his efforts have not been in vain. The message aims to strongly affirm students’ resolve to choose their own future, not just to pass exams.

A special interview video with Junsei Motojima is also available, where he shares his personal experiences and offers words of encouragement to students facing their exams. He emphasizes that “what you gain through the process of hard work is never wasted,” even in the face of setbacks.
