Addressing Fragmentation and Incompatibility
Aliro addresses the industry’s fragmentation issue by offering a standardized approach, replacing proprietary and mutually incompatible mobile authentication systems. Complementing this, Matter enables reliable command and control functions such as remote locking/unlocking, user registration, and integration with smart home ecosystems. Devices can support Aliro, Matter, or both, with major smartphone vendors often requiring Matter compatibility for smart home applications. The nRF54L Series from Nordic supports simultaneous operation of Aliro and Matter, which helps reduce hardware complexity and maximize interoperability.
Certified Reference Design Now Available
The certified Aliro and Matter software, along with hardware descriptions, are now available as the “Door Lock and Access Control Add-on” for the nRF Connect SDK.
