The standout feature of this new series is the newly developed connection system, the “Micro Anchor.” This system evolves Peak Design’s renowned camera connector, “Anchor Links,” into a miniature size optimized for mobile devices.
Each Micro Anchor weighs a mere 0.04g and features an ultra-fine 1mm diameter cord. Despite its compact appearance, designed not to detract from device aesthetics, each connection point boasts an impressive load capacity of approximately 23kg.
The cord incorporates the brand’s traditional layered safety design, where an internal red core becomes visible when the cord is worn, indicating it’s time for replacement. Attachment and detachment are intuitive and smooth, and the connector includes a swivel mechanism to prevent strap twisting, ensuring a stress-free user experience.
Compatible Devices
The Micro Anchor system is optimized for smartphones and a wide range of Everyday Carry (EDC) items.
- Smartphone Cases: It is compatible with all Peak Design smartphone cases and can be directly attached to third-party cases with strap holes. With the included “Mobile Strap Adapter,” it supports almost all commercially available cases, provided the charging port area at the bottom is fully covered.
- Cameras: The system is also highly compatible with premium compact cameras such as the RICOH GR series and small film cameras. To prevent cord abrasion from sharp strap attachment points, connection via triangular or round rings is recommended. For heavier equipment like mirrorless or DSLR cameras, the traditional camera-specific Anchor Links should be used.
- Everyday Items: It is also useful for quickly carrying essential small items like keys, earphone cases such as AirPods, and compact wallets.
