Validation of AI Acceleration for Cloud Gaming

The verification process involved establishing an end-to-end connection between a client terminal and a game server via MediaTek’s T930 5G CPE platform and Anritsu’s MT8000A, effectively replicating a cloud gaming environment. Within this setup, the low-latency communication performance of MediaTek’s AI acceleration technology was evaluated.

MediaTek’s intelligent CPE platform integrates AI QoS (Quality of Service) and AI L4S (Low Latency, Low Loss, Scalable throughput) technologies. These technologies are designed to significantly enhance the user experience for latency-sensitive applications, such as online gaming, through advanced delay compensation.

Future Implications for 5G and 6G

As 5G technology continues to advance and future 6G technologies emerge, the importance of these AI-driven latency compensation techniques is expected to grow. They are anticipated to play a crucial role in the evolution of fields such as online gaming, Extended Reality (XR), drones/remote control, and live commerce.

Anritsu’s Role with the MT8000A

Anritsu supported this validation with its Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A. The MT8000A is specifically designed for research and development across a wide range of mobile devices, including smartphones, tablets, IoT modules, and chipsets. It supports diverse communication methods such as 5G NR (FR1/FR2), NR NTN, and LTE, enabling efficient execution of tasks from RF calibration to various measurement functions within a single unit. The platform continues to evolve, with new RF hardware supporting FR3 (up to 16 GHz) positioning it as a capable platform for 6G development.

MWC 2026 Demonstration

A demo video showcasing the AI acceleration technology, including simulations of the cloud gaming environment using the MT8000A, is scheduled to be exhibited at MediaTek’s booth during MWC 2026. This demonstration will illustrate how the technology enhances user experience.
