FreeMile’s “evuco” Electric Bicycle Sells Out at Osaka Auto Messe, Shifts to Special Price Pre-Orders
FreeMile, a developer and seller of electric mobility solutions, announced that its specific small moped, “evuco,” a full electric bicycle, sold out its on-site stock during its exhibition at the 29th Osaka Auto Messe 2026. The event, held from February 13-15 at Intex Osaka, saw significant interest in evuco, leading to the company now accepting pre-orders at a special price of 125,000 JPY (reduced from the usual 168,000 JPY) for shipments scheduled for April 2026. FreeMile also indicated plans to develop a larger front basket based on feedback received from visitors.
Osaka Auto Messe is a major motor show in the Kansai region, established in 1997, typically attracting over 200,000 visitors annually. This year’s event featured 373 exhibitors and 702 displayed vehicles, with a reported attendance of 213,403 people over three days, benefiting from favorable weather.
About evuco: A Compact and Robust Electric Companion
evuco, the featured product by FreeMile, is a specific small moped that does not require a driver’s license, boasting a track record of 60,000 units in operation in the United States. Known as a “full electric bicycle” or “no-pedal bicycle,” evuco was developed with the concept of “a ride that adults can naturally use.” Its name, evuco, is derived from “ev” (electric), “u” (you-friendly), and “co” (compact companion).

In terms of performance, evuco features a stylish and refined design, incorporating a chainless structure that offers benefits such as reduced clothing stains and minimal maintenance. The design also eliminates gaps between parts and uses high-density materials, achieving IP65 waterproof performance suitable for outdoor storage. Its robust construction is a key feature, designed to withstand incidents like “domino falls” in parking lots and described as tough enough to resist damage from a hammer.
Positive Reception and Future Development
evuco was exhibited within the JEMPA (Japan Electric Mobility Promotion Association) booth in the “Small Smart Mobility Experience Area” (Hall 6B) at Intex Osaka. Despite its location deeper within the venue, many visitors specifically sought out evuco, expressing interest from online research and a desire to test ride the vehicle.
Visitors who experienced the test ride provided positive feedback, describing the acceleration as smooth and easy to ride, controls as intuitive, and the design as more refined compared to other models. While the maximum speed is consistent with other specific small moped models, attendees primarily compared evuco based on price, design, and cruising range. Many noted its affordability and suitability as a first specific small moped. However, some visitors suggested that the front basket capacity was somewhat small.

The overwhelming response at the event led to all available stock being sold out. Subsequent orders will now be handled as pre-orders for April 2026 shipment, offered at the special price of 125,000 JPY. In response to feedback regarding the front basket, FreeMile plans to develop a new, larger capacity basket.
