Development Background
Products equipped with lithium-ion batteries carry a risk of smoke emission or ignition due to malfunctions or degradation. Data released by the Tokyo Fire Department indicates that “mobile batteries” were the most frequent cause of fires by application in 2023 (as of preliminary figures from July 12, 2024).
In response to this situation, the “Fire-Resistant Case for Mobile Batteries” was developed to provide a “just-in-case” preparedness solution that can be naturally integrated into daily life, rather than being a special disaster item.
Product Features
This product aims to mitigate damage from potential accidents such as heat generation or ignition of mobile batteries. It features a four-layer structure designed to suppress the spread of flames and heat, offering heat resistance up to 800°C. The outer layers consist of silicone coating and glass fiber fabric, while the inner layers are made of glass fiber fabric and aluminum foil.
Emphasizing “daily disaster preparedness,” the case boasts a stylish design and a convenient size for everyday use. The pleasant-to-the-touch silicone coating also provides water repellency. Available in three colors, its sophisticated stitching allows it to be used not only as a disaster preparedness item but also as a gadget pouch or a flame-retardant storage case.
