Key Features of the New ‘Central Freezer HZC Type’ Refrigerators
1. Vacuum Chilled Compartment (New)
The ‘Vacuum Chilled Compartment’ uses a compact vacuum pump to create an approximately 0.8 atmospheric pressure vacuum environment, realized through Hitachi’s unique technology in domestic non-CFC refrigerators as of January 2026. By preserving food with indirect cooling, a sealed structure, and an approximate -1°C chilled temperature, it suppresses oxidation and discoloration, maintaining freshness. The sealed environment also helps prevent food drying, even without plastic wrap.
2. Effortless High Freshness for All Compartments
This series includes features for easy and effective food preservation in all compartments without requiring user settings.

Refrigerator Compartment: In addition to the ‘Vacuum Chilled Compartment,’ the entire shelf space is maintained at approximately 2°C with moist air, a feature called ‘Marugoto Chilled,’ which protects freshness. (Note: Door pockets are not included in Marugoto Chilled. When Marugoto Chilled is enabled, power consumption increases by approximately 5%. It is enabled by default at shipment.)

Freezer Compartment: ‘Delicious Freezing’ (bottom first tier) uses a large aluminum tray to quickly remove heat from food, enabling delicious home freezing. Furthermore, ‘Frost Block’ (bottom first and second tiers) suppresses frost formation during freezing.

Vegetable Compartment: The ‘Fresh Sleep Vegetable Compartment’ (bottom space) preserves vegetables as if they are dormant, maintaining their crispness for a longer period simply by placing them inside.
3. Spacious, Easy-to-Organize, Central 3-Tier Large Capacity Freezer
The large-capacity freezer offers ample storage. The bottom freezer compartment is equipped with three cases of different heights, allowing for organized storage of various food sizes, even after bulk purchases. The central freezer position ensures easy access to stored items.
4. Design Harmonizing with Interiors (New)
The design features a horizontal and vertical base and elegant frost glass, creating a refined appearance that blends seamlessly with interior decor. The exterior color options, charcoal gray and natural white, are selected to complement diverse living environments.
5. ‘Happiness Up’ App for Refrigerator Usage and Food Management Support
The refrigerators integrate with Hitachi’s ‘Happiness Up’ app, a home support application designed to enhance convenience and peace of mind through data utilization. The app supports monitoring operation status, changing settings, and even requesting repairs in case of issues. The newly added ‘Batch Food Management’ function allows users to centralize the management of ingredients stored in the refrigerator or pantry, and create shopping lists, thereby helping to prevent redundant purchases and forgotten items. Additionally, registered ingredients automatically link with the ‘Patto Recipe Keikaku’ (Recipe Planning) function, simplifying meal planning.
Furthermore, three models of the ‘Central Freezer HWC Type’ connected refrigerators (featuring ‘Happiness Up’ integration, ‘Tokusen Chilled Compartment,’ and exterior colors of Light Gold and Blast Mauve Gray with steel plate doors, 617L, 540L, and 485L capacities) will be launched in mid-February.
