Integrated Tri-Radio Technology
The NXP Wi-Fi® 6 Tri-Radio Modules, featuring the IW610, integrate Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE) 5.4, and 802.15.4 radios into a single, compact solution. The Wi-Fi 6 subsystem is designed to improve network efficiency, reduce latency, and extend communication range. The Bluetooth LE radio supports high-speed data transfer and long-range Bluetooth communication. Additionally, the integrated 802.15.4 radio supports Thread mesh networking, making it ideal for Matter applications.
Security is a key aspect, with NXP’s EdgeLock® security technology incorporated to protect secure boot, firmware updates, and lifecycle management. The IW610-based Wi-Fi® 6 Tri-Radio Modules are supported by numerous module partners and are compatible with NXP’s i.MX MPU, i.MX RT, and MCX host platforms. They also feature multiple interfaces for connecting to external processors.
Power management functionalities include deep sleep mode, low-power modes, a highly efficient integrated buck DC-DC converter, and wake-up capabilities triggered by GPIO, host interface activity, and timers.
Development Support
Mouser also offers the FRDM-IMX91 board, which features NXP’s i.MX 91 application processor. This low-cost, compact development tool is suitable for developing secure wireless applications.
