ONIX Introduces ‘Tocata XM2’ Portable Audio Player

MUSIN Co., Ltd. announced the launch of the ‘Tocata XM2,’ a new compact audio player from its ONIX brand. Succeeding the XM5, this player is designed to provide a comfortable portable experience through its display and button operations. Reservations for the ‘Tocata XM2’ will commence on January 30, 2026 (Friday), with sales officially starting on February 6, 2026 (Friday).

Additionally, the dedicated ‘XM2 Magnetic Case’ will be released simultaneously. An early bird campaign will also be held for customers who purchase the product between January 30, 2026 (Friday) and February 28, 2026 (Saturday). Details of the campaign are provided below.

Traditional British Sound in a Portable Package

The ‘Tocata XM2’ embodies ONIX’s traditional British sound within a minimalist, palm-sized chassis. Despite its compact form factor, the Tocata XM2 makes no compromises on sound quality. Its configuration, featuring a dual amplifier, FPGA, and dual KDS crystal oscillators, boasts excellent soundstage reproduction and resolution, achieving flagship-class sound and high output performance.

The chassis is crafted with CNC unibody processing, offering a comfortable one-hand grip. It features ONIX’s signature gold-plated volume dial and four physical buttons on the front, inherited from the XM5, for a classic operational feel.

Cirrus Logic CS4308P DAC

The XM2 incorporates Cirrus Logic’s 8-channel flagship DAC, the ‘CS4308P.’ This DAC delivers transparent and faithful playback performance within the compact body, ensuring detailed sound reproduction and a high-quality listening experience.

Dual OPA1612 Op-Amp

For its I/V conversion stage, the XM2 utilizes ONIX’s proprietary ‘Brighton’ architecture, specifically designed for ONIX devices and incorporating dual OPA1612 op-amps. This crucial I/V conversion stage is key to ONIX’s delicate and clear sound quality. The ‘Tocata XM2’ achieves a high output performance of 800mW@32Ω through its dual amplifier configuration.

Function Button

The ‘Fn (Function) button’ on the front of the unit is customizable, allowing users to set preferred operations such as returning to the main menu, screen rotation, button lock, Gain function, and favorite registration.

Enhanced Wireless Streaming and SyncLink Remote Control

The XM2 supports wireless control via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth through the SyncLink feature. With the dedicated smartphone app ‘EddictPlayerApp,’ users can control XM2’s volume, browse, and operate the music library from their smartphone. The Wi-Fi function also enables network streaming via AirPlay and DLNA, expanding the music experience with ease.
