What began as a project to develop a compact cooking pot for solo camping and car camping has unexpectedly become a game-changer for solo home cooking. The PowerArQ development team, based at G.O. Holdings Co., Ltd., initially focused on creating a small cooking pot with a power consumption of less than 500W and a total weight of 1.0kg, designed to complete cooking with just a portable power supply. The aim was to create a versatile and stylish device suitable for various outdoor cooking needs.
The Durability Test That Changed Everything
In the winter of 2025, as prototypes neared completion, a development staff member took a unit home for a durability test. The objective was simply to use it daily to ensure its robustness. However, this test soon revealed an unforeseen potential.
One evening, after a long day at work, with an empty refrigerator, the staff member decided to cook instant noodles. The pot’s size, which allowed noodles to be placed in without breaking, proved remarkably convenient. Three minutes later, the steaming pot was placed directly on the table for a meal. This simple act marked the beginning of a new daily routine. Day after day, the DuoPot was used for various meals. After instant noodles, rice was cooked, with a single cup of white rice cooking perfectly. The frying pan was then used to make a fried egg while the rice steamed, creating a complete meal with two dishes cooked simultaneously.
Over the weeks, the variety of dishes prepared with the DuoPot grew naturally, from pasta to stewed dishes. Eventually, the staff member realized they couldn’t remember the last time they had used their gas stove. The DuoPot had become the central appliance for their home cooking.
“Isn’t this all a single person needs for home cooking?” the staff member asked the development team the next morning. What started as a casual remark soon led other staff members to conduct similar tests, all reaching the same conclusion: the product designed for camping had become an indispensable daily tool for home cooking.

For many living alone, the thought of cooking after a tiring day often leads to reaching for a smartphone to order takeout or visit a convenience store. The desire to cook is often there, but the multiple steps—menu planning, ingredient preparation, temperature control, and washing up—can be daunting. The PowerArQ DuoPot addresses these challenges by streamlining the cooking process.
Imagine this: You return home, add water to the pot, and press a switch. Instant noodles are ready before you even finish changing clothes. After eating, the pot goes straight into the dishwasher. The perceived effort is minimal.
As you become more accustomed to it, you can cook a perfect single serving of rice. While the rice steams, you can fry an egg in the accompanying pan, creating a satisfying dinner. Even in a small studio apartment with only one stovetop burner, the DuoPot allows for simultaneous cooking of two dishes.
The 1.2L deep pot is large enough for instant noodles. Both the pot and frying pan are dishwasher-safe and fit comfortably into small dishwashers designed for single-person households. This “cook → eat → dishwasher” cycle significantly lowers the barrier to home cooking.
Effortless Disaster Preparedness
The DuoPot, operating solely on electricity without gas, can be used with a portable power supply during power outages, allowing for cooking as usual. This feature is particularly useful for warming baby milk late at night during an unexpected blackout. Instead of buying emergency supplies that are stored away and forgotten, the DuoPot integrates disaster preparedness into daily life. Since it is used regularly, there is no need to consciously think about “being prepared”; daily use serves as preparation for emergencies.
