Free Collection of Unwanted Mobile Batteries
As part of its efforts to realize a resource-recycling society, Docomo will commence free collection of mobile batteries previously purchased from Docomo and no longer needed by customers. The collected mobile batteries will be appropriately recycled.
Background of the Initiative
Docomo offers the “Docomo Keitai Recycle” service, which provides free collection of unwanted old products at Docomo Shops and d garden nationwide, aiming for a resource-recycling society.
Docomo Group has established the “Green Action Plan” to contribute to the sustainable development of society and the global environment, with a target of 99% waste recycling rate by 2030, promoting 3R activities and mobile terminal collection. Furthermore, in its “Biodiversity Mid-Term Roadmap,” the company has defined mineral resource management and resource circulation as key themes, promoting material recycling.
While mobile batteries offer convenience, improper handling, such as strong pressure or impact, can lead to accidents. To reduce such incidents, Docomo is initiating free collection and recycling of unwanted mobile batteries.
Docomo will continue to effectively utilize resources throughout the entire lifecycle, from procurement to disposal, of its products and services, promoting circular economy initiatives to contribute to the sustainable development of society and global environmental preservation.
