PFU Achieves 16th Consecutive BCN Award for Scanner Division, Launches “ScanSnap Grand Thanksgiving Festival”
PFU has been honored with the BCN Award 2026 in the scanner division for the 16th consecutive year, capturing a 45.6% market share in 2025. This significant achievement is further highlighted by a 75.2% share in the BCN sheet-fed scanner category, marking a 1.9% increase from the previous year. To express gratitude for continuous customer support, PFU is launching the “BCN AWARD 16 Years Consecutive Share No.1 Commemorative ScanSnap Grand Thanksgiving Festival” starting January 19, 2026.
Market Leadership and Product Innovation
PFU’s ScanSnap series has consistently maintained its position as the market leader. The company’s overall market share in the scanner division for 2025 reached 45.6%.
Specifically, in the BCN sheet-fed scanner category, PFU achieved a dominant 75.2% share, an increase of 1.9% from the previous year.
The ScanSnap series is recognized for its user-friendly operation, enabling quick digitization of various documents such as papers, business cards, receipts, and photos, and seamless integration with cloud services.
The year 2025 saw significant product releases, including the iX2500, a flagship model released in June after a four-year interval from its predecessor, the iX1600. November brought the introduction of the simple model iX2400 and the iX110, a mobile scanner that received its first renewal in 11 years, succeeding the iX100.
The iX2500, conceptualized as “Anytime, Anywhere, Any Device,” recently enhanced its versatility with the “ScanSnap Go” function, released on January 8. This feature allows users to utilize the iX2500 with the familiar “My ScanSnap” experience across diverse work environments. PFU also plans to introduce “ScanSnap Spot,” offering opportunities for more individuals to experience the iX2500 firsthand.
Embracing AI and Digital Transformation
The increasing penetration of AI in professional and daily life has highlighted the growing need to store and manage analog data in AI-compatible formats. It is believed that PFU’s initiatives in combining analog-to-digital conversion with AI, along with the dissemination of various use cases and ideas, have significantly contributed to its market share success.
