Mono Co., Ltd., Leveraging IoT × AI, Launches Elderly Monitoring Sensor & App Service “Beiju”

Health&Fitness

Features of Beiju

  1. Easy Setup, No Wi-Fi Required: Equipped with LTE communication, the device connects to the internet simply by plugging it into an outlet and placing it in any desired location. No complicated installation or Wi-Fi environment is necessary.
  2. Intuitive, Simple App: Primarily designed for receiving notifications. Users who wish to utilize more advanced functions can review activity reports for analysis and support planning, or register absence periods (e.g., travel) to temporarily disable activity alerts.
  3. Privacy-Conscious Design: To avoid the stress associated with surveillance cameras, “Beiju” uses human presence and temperature sensors for detection. Alert notifications to supporters are minimized, and a comprehensive understanding of the situation can be gained by reviewing activity history and analysis without acquiring images or audio.
  4. Communication Function: Allows for the creation of groups with multiple supporters, such as relatives or helpers, enabling coordinated support through a chat function.
  5. AI as a Team Member: Beiju AI acts as a member of the support team, assisting in monitoring. When using the group function, Beiju AI can participate as a concierge. If data suggests a potential abnormality, the AI can call the individual directly to confirm their status on behalf of busy family members.
  6. High Detection Accuracy: Features an inactivity alert function based on human presence sensors and a heatstroke alert function using temperature sensors. The system is meticulously designed to prevent false alarms that could cause stress to both the individual being monitored and their relatives.

Examples of Use

Case 1: “What if something happens?”

If no activity is detected for a set period, the AI will call the individual. If there is no response, the app will notify the caregivers, enabling prompt awareness and response to any irregularities.

Case 2: “Is the room temperature okay on hot days?”

Elderly individuals may not always perceive changes in temperature accurately. Therefore, a heatstroke alert function with a temperature sensor is included. If the room temperature exceeds a set limit, the AI can make a phone call to the individual and send a notification to their relatives.

Case 3: “Are they spending their day as usual?”

The history of human presence sensor reactions is visualized in a graph, allowing for early intervention and care if a decrease in activity frequency is observed.
