About the Smart Recovery Ring / INFOBAR Collaboration Model
The Smart Recovery Ring is a finger-worn wearable device that measures “sleep,” “stress,” and “activity level,” allowing users to view detailed data via a dedicated app. The collaboration model incorporates the distinctive “NISHIKIGOI” and “ICHIMATSU” colors, which symbolize the original “INFOBAR” (launched in 2003).
The “NISHIKIGOI” model utilizes an aluminum alloy, while the “ICHIMATSU” model features stainless steel. The design team focused on achieving the high CMF (Color, Material, Finish) quality expected of the INFOBAR name. The design supervision for this collaboration model was provided by Tetsuya Sunahara, producer of the KDDI au Design project.
This marks the second INFOBAR series collaboration for issin products, following the “Smart Bath Mat,” a body weight measuring bath mat.

About “INFOBAR”
INFOBAR was launched in 2003 as the first model of the “au Design project,” which aimed to innovate mobile phone design, making a significant impact on the mobile design landscape. One of INFOBAR’s defining characteristics is its unique color designs, such as NISHIKIGOI and ICHIMATSU. Its distinctiveness also led to its frequent depiction as a mobile phone used by characters in anime and manga, influencing a wide range of cultures. Over approximately 20 years, as mobile phones evolved into smartphones, a total of seven models were released. The representative color, NISHIKIGOI, was adopted in all models, securing high support throughout the series. The product design was handled by product designer Naoto Fukasawa, and its design has received high international acclaim. It is housed in institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Indianapolis Museum of Art (USA), and the Victoria and Albert Museum (UK, London). In 2023, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the original INFOBAR’s launch, October 31st, its release date, was designated as “INFOBAR Day.”
