Low-Cost Home Charging Environment
One significant challenge in adopting EVs has been the high initial cost of installing home charging equipment. By utilizing the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s subsidy program, Jigowatts is able to offer the “Industrial Model” 6kW cable-attached EV ordinary charger for an effective cost of 30,000 yen. This price point aims to significantly reduce the burden on individual users, making it easier for first-time EV owners to establish a home charging environment. No changes to electricity contracts are required; the process can be completed simply by application.

App Features
The charger comes with a dedicated app that provides several smart functionalities for enhanced convenience and safety.
1. Remote Charging Output Adjustment
The app allows users to remotely change the charging output from 6A to a maximum of 30A, in 1A increments. This feature is particularly useful for households with standard electricity contracts (typically 40A to 50A), as it helps prevent circuit breakers from tripping when other home appliances are in use. Users can adjust the output to safely charge their EV without needing to change their contract amperage.

2. Scheduled Charging Function
This function enables users to schedule charging sessions to avoid peak electricity usage times, such as when using microwave ovens or hair dryers. By setting start and end times in the app, users can ensure their EV charges automatically according to their daily routine. For example, charging can be set to occur only at night from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM the next day, or to start automatically simply by plugging in the cable upon returning home.

3. Charging Status Monitoring
Users can monitor the current charging power and progress directly through the app.
4. Other Features (to be added in the future)
-
Anti-theft lock function
-
Family user function
-
Batch management of multiple chargers
