Addressing the Safety Concerns of Mobile Batteries
Mobile batteries have become an essential part of daily life with the widespread use of smartphones. However, incidents of ignition and product recalls highlight a significant societal challenge. This issue often stems from a structural problem where the pursuit of thinner designs and higher energy density has sometimes compromised safety.
MAKERZ addresses this by fundamentally changing the battery’s internal composition, opting for semi-solid battery technology. This approach aims to achieve a balance of safety, slim design, high capacity, and high output.
Semi-Solid Battery: A Safer Alternative
Traditional lithium-ion batteries use flammable organic liquid electrolytes. If the separator between the positive and negative electrodes is damaged by external impact, it can lead to a short circuit and rapid heat generation. This can cause flammable gases from the organic solvent to ignite, resulting in smoke and fire.
Semi-solid batteries mitigate this risk by replacing a portion of the electrolyte with a gel-like substance, reducing the amount of liquid. This design significantly decreases the release of flammable gases, thereby lowering the likelihood of ignition compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries.
Rigorous Self-Testing for Enhanced Safety
MAKERZ ensures that not all semi-solid batteries are inherently safe. The company rigorously selects semi-solid cells based on strict quality and safety criteria. Crucially, they conduct over seven types of extreme destruction tests on finished, fully charged products in their own testing facilities. These tests include penetration, pressure, impact, cutting, heating, and cooling, verifying stability under various stresses.
This comprehensive testing approach, which goes beyond the industry standard of testing only individual battery cells, ensures that only products meeting stringent safety standards are offered for sale. Verification videos demonstrating these tests, including a complex test involving five penetrations, 20 minutes at 100 degrees Celsius, and one cut, as well as a vehicle pressure test, have been released.
Note: These verification tests were conducted in specialized facilities with adequate safety measures. Applying impacts or pressure to mobile batteries is extremely dangerous. Public imitation is strictly prohibited.

Both models support pass-through charging, prioritizing power supply to the smartphone first and then automatically charging the power bank upon completion. They also feature a low-current mode suitable for charging small devices like earphones.
