Sony Launches “BRAVIA 8 II” Series 4K QD-OLED TVs, Delivering Immersive Viewing in Bright Living Rooms

Key Features of the “BRAVIA 8 II” Series

1. Rich Colors and High Immersion with QD-OLED and Proprietary Technology

The BRAVIA 8 II series leverages the pure red, green, and blue color reproduction of QD-OLED panels, maximized by the Cognitive Processor XR. “XR Triluminos Max” delivers natural and vibrant colors, while “XR Contrast Booster 25” increases peak brightness by up to 1.5 times compared to the previous BRAVIA 8 series. This combination, along with the deep blacks inherent to OLED technology and the low-reflection film, ensures a highly immersive picture with reduced glare, even in bright rooms.

2. “Acoustic Surface Audio Plus” for Integrated Sound and Picture

“Acoustic Surface Audio Plus” technology vibrates the OLED panel itself to produce sound, allowing audio to originate precisely from the location of objects on screen. This creates a remarkably lifelike and immersive soundstage. Despite the TV’s slim design, viewers can expect an enveloping sound experience that draws them deeper into the on-screen world.

3. Diverse Features for Enhanced TV Enjoyment

  • Gemini for Google TV: Integrating Google’s generative AI, Gemini, into Google TV enables natural language control without specific commands. This allows for smooth conversational interaction for content search, questions, music playback, and smart home device control, expanding how users enjoy their TV. More details are available here.

  • Voice Zoom 3: This feature uses AI to recognize human voices and adjust their volume, ensuring even quiet dialogue is clearly audible. It can also link with compatible home theater products like soundbars.

  • My Cinema: Preset settings are available to optimize the TV for movies based on the viewing environment. Users can also customize these detailed settings to their preferences.

  • Wireless Remote with TVer Button: The included wireless remote allows operation without needing to point it at the TV’s receiver (power on/off and channel operations still use infrared). A dedicated button for the official Japanese commercial TV streaming service “TVer” has been added, providing one-push access to both live broadcasts and online video content.

Environmental Initiatives

Sony Group’s “Road to Zero” environmental plan aims for zero environmental footprint by 2040. The BRAVIA 8 II series contributes to this goal by incorporating “SORPLAS™,” Sony’s high-quality recycled plastic, and other recycled materials in its exterior, internal components, and remote control. An “ECO menu” centralizes energy-saving settings, allowing users to monitor daily power consumption. By activating these settings, power consumption can be reduced by approximately 29% compared to initial settings.
