Toshiba Lifestyle Co., Ltd. is set to release two new models of its “Ishigama Dome” overheat steam oven range, ER-D7000C and ER-D5000C, starting in June. These new products are equipped with an automatic warming function for commercial frozen foods, aiming to provide a more convenient and time-saving cooking experience.

The new “Ishigama Dome” models integrate an improved seamless inverter, allowing for continuous low-power operation. This innovation helps to minimize uneven heating in frozen foods. The newly introduced “Automatic Warming for Commercial Frozen Foods” feature eliminates the need for users to set output or time, automatically warming frozen foods in a shorter period. For example, commercial frozen pasta (360g) can be warmed in approximately 5 minutes and 13 seconds, a reduction of about 20% compared to manual microwave heating (500W: 6 minutes 50 seconds).

In addition to the automatic warming function, the new models include:

  • Sugouma Defrost: This feature achieves even defrosting without the need for steam, utilizing only microwave heating to prevent uneven thawing.

  • Freshly Prepared Texture: Designed to restore the texture of refrigerated foods, this function can warm sushi rice to a fluffy consistency without cooking the toppings, and is also applicable to dango and bread.

  • Ishigama Omakase-yaki 2-stage: This new oven function allows for simultaneous two-stage cooking, making it easier to prepare leftover vegetables in bulk and assisting with meal preparation.

These enhancements address the growing demand for time-saving solutions and ease of cooking, driven by an increased focus on time performance (TyPa) and the rise of dual-income households. The improved inverter technology enables gentle heating at 200W/100W, which was not possible with previous models, further reducing heating inconsistencies often associated with high-output intermittent heating.

Furthermore, in response to rising living costs and increased awareness of home cooking and food waste reduction, the oven functions have been expanded. The design of the unit has also been refreshed, featuring a metal handle and flat glass, along with the first “Ishigama Dome” logo renewal in 10 years.
