This product is engineered to address specific challenges in Japanese housing, such as lower ceiling heights and the increasing demand for intuitive smart home solutions.

Development Background: Addressing Japanese Housing Challenges

Japanese homes typically feature ceiling heights of approximately 2.4 meters, which are lower than those in Western countries (around 2.7 to 3.0 meters). This often leads to a sense of visual oppression when traditional ceiling fan lights are installed. Additionally, many compact ceiling fan lights suffer from noticeable noise levels at higher fan speeds. The smart appliance market has seen a rise in interest for voice control; however, most solutions require Wi-Fi connectivity, app installations, and cloud service registrations, which can be cumbersome and dependent on network availability.

LumoAir was developed over approximately two years to resolve these three issues: loss of aesthetic space, noise associated with high airflow, and the complexity of voice control setup.

LumoAir is an integrated ceiling fan light that combines “illumination,” “airflow,” “air circulation,” and “voice control.” When the fan is off, it functions as a slim LED ceiling light, approximately 23 cm thick, blending seamlessly with the ceiling. Upon fan activation, the blades quietly deploy, transforming it into a large fan with a diameter of 109 cm. This product consolidates various functions, including main lighting, indirect lighting, ventilation, air circulation, and voice operation, to enhance living comfort.

1. Space-Saving “Blade Storage Design”

Designed with space performance in mind, LumoAir’s blades fully retract into the unit when not in use. This leaves only a compact, approximately 50 cm diameter ceiling light, eliminating visual clutter. When in use, large, curved blades spanning approximately 109 cm deploy to deliver gentle airflow throughout the room. The enclosed blade structure also prevents dust accumulation, simplifying daily maintenance.

2. Wi-Fi and App-Free “Offline Voice Operation”

LumoAir incorporates LivAiA’s proprietary offline voice recognition technology, which has been featured in various media. It responds to natural Japanese commands such as “Turn on the light” or “Lower the fan speed.” Installation is straightforward, allowing immediate use. Equipped with a voice recognition chip trained on diverse Japanese speech data, the product operates entirely offline, ensuring user privacy.

3. “Light Guide Plate” for Uniform 5000lm Illumination

Utilizing a “light guide plate method,” LumoAir achieves uniform, surface-wide illumination, minimizing the granular effect common in LEDs. Despite its slim profile, it delivers a maximum brightness of 5000lm and a high color rendering index (Ra85), capable of illuminating large living spaces up to 12 tatami mats with a single unit. It offers 5 color temperatures from 3000K to 6500K and 7 levels of dimming.

4. “Uplight” and “Night Light” for Diverse Scenes

The unit includes an “uplight” (indirect lighting) that softly illuminates the ceiling. During evening relaxation, activating only the indirect lighting can create a calm ambiance. The “night light” function differs from traditional small bulbs by reflecting light off the ceiling, providing a gentle glow. The light emission can be switched in three directions, allowing users to select their preferred direction and brightness.

5. “DC Motor” and “Streamlined Blades” for Quietness

LumoAir achieves quiet operation with high airflow thanks to its high-quality DC motor and large 109 cm diameter blades. This design reduces wind noise at higher speeds, ensuring it doesn’t interrupt conversations or TV viewing. It also features forward and reverse rotation functions (circulator effect) to enhance heating and cooling efficiency, supporting a comfortable indoor environment year-round.

6. “Rhythm Wind” and “Sleep Wind” Modes

Three fan modes are available: “Normal Wind” with 6 adjustable speeds, “Rhythm Wind” which simulates natural breezes with 1/f fluctuation, and “Sleep Wind” which gradually decreases airflow from a set speed for a calm sleeping environment. The fan’s forward and reverse rotation also helps circulate warm air in winter and cool air in summer, improving the efficiency of air conditioning.

7. Included “Voice Control Remote” and “Wireless Remote with LCD”

A “voice control remote” is included, designed separately from the main unit to avoid noise interference. It features a compact design that plugs directly into an outlet and includes a night light function. A 2.4GHz compatible “wireless remote with LCD” offers straightforward operation with simple button layouts. Both remotes allow separate timer settings for lighting and fan functions.

8. Easy Installation Without Construction

LumoAir is compatible with standard Japanese ceiling hook receptacles, allowing for installation without the need for construction work. LivAiA’s proprietary base plate design facilitates easy attachment and detachment of the main unit. This unique base plate also eliminates gaps with the ceiling, achieving a minimalist design and a space-saving ceiling fan light with a height of approximately 23 cm.

The product also features environmentally friendly pulp mold packaging, eliminating traditional plastic foam (EPS) and using 100% recycled paper. This commitment reflects both social responsibility towards environmental protection (SDGs) and perfect protection for the product.

Key specifications include a main body diameter of 500mm, a blade-deployed diameter of 1090mm, 6 fan speeds, 7 dimming levels, 5 color temperatures, 5000lm luminous flux, and a rated power consumption of 85W. It is designed for rooms up to 12 tatami mats and ceiling heights of 2.4m-2.7m.
