Digital Piano ‘FP-40’
The FP-40, a new addition to Roland’s long-loved portable FP series, is the company’s first piano to feature Wi-Fi connectivity. It combines Roland’s renowned playability and functionality within a stylish, portable design. The FP-40 will be available from September 19, 2026, at an open price.
This launch coincides with the joint development of the Piano Sphere app, a collaboration with Learnfield GmbH, the operator of the ‘Skoove’ piano learning app, which has over 3 million users worldwide. The partnership leverages Learnfield’s expertise in learning methodologies, user insights, and digital services, combined with Roland’s electronic piano technology, to create a new piano learning experience.
Connecting to a Wi-Fi network allows the FP-40 to stay updated with the latest features and services. Users can easily access songs and lesson content via Piano Sphere, track their progress based on playing records from both the piano and the app, and receive tailored practice support. This system is designed to help users discover new music, practice enjoyably, build confidence, and maintain motivation.

The FP-40 features a ‘Piano Reality Sound Engine’ that reproduces the rich resonance and tonal variations of an acoustic piano. Its PHA-4 Standard Keyboard offers a hammer action, escapement, and ivory-feel texture, enabling expressive playing from delicate nuances to powerful performances. A newly designed speaker system delivers clear, expansive sound with deep bass, allowing players to hear their performance distinctly.
In addition to Wi-Fi, the FP-40 also includes Bluetooth® functionality, enabling users to stream music and other audio content from mobile devices through the piano’s speakers and play along. The free ‘Roland Piano App’ provides further sound customization and access to FP-40 features not available from the front panel.
