TOKYO DIGICONX Concludes Successfully, Showcasing Innovations in Digital Content and Technology

TOKYO DIGICONX (the 3rd TOKYO XR, Metaverse & Content Business World), an event aimed at further revitalizing Tokyo’s industries related to XR, Metaverse, AI, Web3, and content, was held from January 8 (Thursday) to January 10 (Saturday), Reiwa 8 (2026), at Tokyo Big Sight South Halls 3 and 4. The event, organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the XR/Metaverse Industry Exhibition Executive Committee, concluded with approximately 8,000 visitors over three days.

This third iteration featured an exhibition and business matching with about 200 companies from various fields, alongside business seminars, a pitch event, and interactive experiences. Archived content from the event is available on the TOKYO DIGICONX official YouTube channel.

Opening Performance by Official Ambassador Aimi Sekiguchi

The opening day commenced with a video message from Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike, who stated, “This third event again featured companies showcasing cutting-edge digital technology products and services, as well as content providers that beautifully adorn the digital space. It offers diverse business opportunities, including business negotiations, networking, seminars to gain the latest insights, and content for experiencing digital spaces. The fusion of everyone’s strengths will surely create products and services that Japan can proudly present to the world.”

Kunimi Mabuchi, a member of the Executive Committee and Co-Representative Director of Metaverse Japan, also addressed the attendees, commenting, “The fields of XR and Metaverse are advancing daily with the integration of AI technologies, including generative AI, bringing significant transformation to our lifestyles and business scenes. In this trend, it is crucial for companies in Tokyo and Japan to enhance their presence by connecting the technologies and ideas present here and leveraging them for the development of new products and services.”

The opening ceremony also featured an XR art performance by official ambassador Aimi Sekiguchi in collaboration with En Kono (imgee Inc.), which brought great excitement to the venue.

Business Seminars and Stage Events

Throughout the exhibition, business seminars were held to provide insights into XR, Metaverse, and AI. Topics ranged from the cutting-edge world of AI cinema, featuring director Ryo Nakajima (creating “Taste of Water” to express sake flavors with AI), director Hiroki Yamaguchi (whose AI film “Grandma Lebit” was released in August), and Naomichi Iizuka and Norihiro Kurosawa (involved in Japan’s first full-scale AI anime “Twins HinaHima”), to discussions on AI and music by renowned artists such as Haruo Chikada x Nariaki Kikkuchi and Zeebra x ☆Taku Takahashi (m-flo, block.fm).

On the public day, official ambassador Pocky delivered a live game commentary performance, generating enthusiasm among younger audiences and fans.

Vibrant Exhibition and Business Matching

The exhibition featured approximately 200 companies showcasing a diverse range of XR, Metaverse, AI, Web3, and content technologies. A concierge booth was set up to match visitors with exhibitors, supporting exhibitors in expanding their sales channels and creating multiple business opportunities.

Furthermore, a networking event for exhibitors was held after closing on the second day, facilitating exchanges of information and fostering connections among participants.

Interactive Experience Zones

To broaden the appeal of XR, Metaverse, and content, six types of interactive experience zones were set up for visitors. These ranged from Metaverse courses for beginners to a “Meta Quest 3/3S” experience corner featuring the latest VR headsets. On the public day, the ASUS latest gaming PC corner was particularly lively, attracting children and students.

“DIGICONX THE PITCH” was held to support exhibitors in promoting and expanding sales channels for their innovative and promising products, technologies, and services. The theme was “New services and works opened up by digital content.”
