MOONDROP’s planar magnetic headphones distinguish themselves from conventional planar magnetic driver structures by incorporating an ultra-large 100mm diameter diaphragm component. Furthermore, the series’ unique FDT (Full Drive Tech) full-drive technology achieves driving precision significantly surpassing traditional planar magnetic headphones, delivering low segmentation vibration characteristics comparable to electrostatic headphones.
Full-Open Design & Low-Diffraction Round-Edge Structure
“SKYLAND” adopts a highly acclaimed full-open structure, which significantly suppresses the influence of reflections from external parts. The structural edges adjacent to the diaphragm feature a low-diffraction matte finish and smooth curved processing, effectively suppressing high-frequency diffraction. Additionally, a metal protective mesh is positioned at an appropriate distance to prevent damage to the diaphragm during daily use.
500nm Ultra-Light, Ultra-Thin Diaphragm
“SKYLAND” utilizes an ultra-thin, ultra-light diaphragm measuring approximately 500nm. This design pushes the boundaries of planar magnetic driver technology to achieve an ideal vibration mode. This enables rich reproduction of minute details, high response performance, and balanced sound quality across all frequencies.
Old Fashioned: On-Ear Headphones with 40mm Driver
The “Old Fashioned” on-ear headphones combine a retro aesthetic with MOONDROP’s latest acoustic technology. They feature a specially designed 40mm large dynamic driver with a triple-layer hybrid diaphragm. By optimizing the diaphragm’s damping characteristics and the unit’s f0, these headphones achieve deep bass extension and a relaxed, classic tone, which is often challenging for small open-back models.
The “Old Fashioned” also offers an extendable headband and a flexible joint structure to fit various head shapes. Its durable recessed socket structure with a 0.78mm 2-Pin detachable cable design ensures long-term usability, making it a capable model for extended enjoyment.
Nice Buds!: Returning to the Origin of In-Ear Earphones
“Nice Buds!” marks the brand’s 10th anniversary by redefining MOONDROP’s original in-ear earphone concept with modern technology. Inheriting the acoustic philosophy of the classic “MX500,” it features a large 15.4mm custom dynamic driver and a dual-back chamber damping structure for precise bass control. This combination delivers powerful bass and clean mid-range frequencies.
The “Nice Buds!” also incorporates a unique design for secure sponge eartip fixation and an ergonomically designed asymmetric geometry that fits the tragus, simultaneously maximizing wearing stability and acoustic performance, addressing common challenges of traditional in-ear earphones.
