About FocusRay
FocusRay integrates a high-performance camera and an infrared illumination module to deliver precise face tracking for VRSNS applications. It features a global shutter camera capable of shooting at 120fps, which accurately captures subtle facial expressions and translates them to avatars in VRSNS, enabling enhanced expressive capabilities. A global shutter captures all pixels simultaneously, ensuring accurate expression capture without distortion.
The device supports a wide range of VR headsets, with dedicated mounting accessories provided for each:
-
Valve Index
-
Meta Quest series (Oculus/Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3s/3, Meta Quest Pro)
-

AoharuNEXT plans to continuously offer dedicated mounting accessories for newly released headsets. Supported platforms include VRChat, Resonite, and ChilloutVR. The software utilizes “Baballonia,” an open-source face tracking project developed by “Project Babble,” to facilitate smooth face tracking. While FocusRay does not initially support eye tracking, an add-on module for this functionality is planned for future release.
