Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon Boost Game Introduction
“Adventure again and again! Grow stronger!” – This title marks the series’ first “step-up Bubble Bobble.” Players control the bubble-blowing dragon Bubblun as he embarks on a grand adventure through whimsical dungeons that change with each step. Utilize bubble actions to defeat enemies, use bubbles as platforms for movement, and collect treasures. Collected treasures can be used to strengthen Bubblun and learn new skills, allowing players to delve deeper into the stages.
The game also introduces a new “Castle” stage, a massive castle where players explore maze-like interconnected rooms. A port of the home console version of “Bubble Symphony,” released in 1997, is included.
The free major update for the Steam version, transforming it into “Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon Boost,” significantly enhances the dungeon exploration experience with added drop items and greatly increased drop rates. The appearance of Bobblun now allows for rapid enemy defeat and floor skipping, making the game more engaging and accessible.

About Bubble Bobble
“Bubble Bobble” is an arcade action game released by Taito in September 1986. The series will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2026. The story follows Bubby and Bobby, who were transformed into bubble-blowing dragons, Bubblun and Bobblun, by a wizard’s curse. They must journey through 100 underground floors of a cave, trapping and defeating enemies with bubbles, to rescue their kidnapped girlfriends.
The game gained popularity for its adorable characters, Bubblun and Bobblun, leading to numerous sequels and ports for various home consoles. Furthermore, the puzzle game “Puzzle Bobble” (also known as Bust-A-Move), featuring the same characters, became a massive hit and a flagship title for the franchise. Taito Corporation, as the sole rights holder of intellectual property related to “Bubble Bobble,” including copyrights and trademarks in Japan and other regions, continues to actively promote the series.
