Elecom’s Commitment to Safe Batteries

Elecom has consistently pursued the development and popularization of safe mobile batteries. This commitment began with the launch of lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) mobile batteries in 2022, followed by what was verified as the world’s first (according to a market survey by Mirai Trend Research Institute as of November 27, 2024) sodium-ion battery mobile battery in 2025. In April 2026, the company further enhanced safety by releasing a 10,000mAh mobile battery utilizing semi-solid lithium-ion technology, designed for portability and long life. The newly announced 5,000mAh model is lighter, making it even more suitable for outdoor use.

Understanding Semi-Solid Batteries

Traditional batteries rely on lithium ions moving within a liquid electrolyte between the positive and negative electrodes. The semi-solid battery adopted in this new product gels the electrolyte, significantly reducing the risk of liquid leakage. This design also decreases the amount of flammable organic electrolyte, a known cause of ignition accidents, and suppresses the generation and release of flammable gases during internal short circuits, thereby enhancing safety.

“Health Monitor” Feature for Continuous Safe Use

This product introduces the new “Health Monitor” feature. It automatically diagnoses the battery’s health based on the number of charge and discharge cycles and displays it clearly with an LED color. This function serves as a guide for replacement or inspection. The LED panel also allows users to check the battery remaining capacity in 1% increments, which is convenient when charging the mobile battery itself. It is important to note that regardless of the “Health Monitor” status, if swelling, unusual odor, or abnormal heat generation is observed, use should be stopped immediately.

Approximately Four Times Longer Lifespan and Wide Operating Temperature Range

Conventional mobile batteries using liquid lithium-ion batteries typically have a cycle life of about 500 times. By gelling the electrolyte, semi-solid lithium-ion batteries achieve higher chemical stability, extending the battery life to approximately 2,000 cycles, which is about four times longer than conventional batteries.

Furthermore, while typical mobile batteries have a discharge temperature range of 0℃ to 40℃, this product supports a wider range from -15℃ to 45℃ (discharge environment temperature). This broad temperature compatibility allows for safe use in various environments, including extremely hot or cold regions. It should be noted that the product is not waterproof or dustproof.

Estimated Number of Charges

The mobile battery can charge a 1,800mAh smartphone approximately 1.6 times and a 3,000mAh smartphone approximately 0.9 times. These are approximate figures for charging a powered-off smartphone with a fully charged mobile battery. Actual charging performance may vary if the device is powered on or in use during charging.

High Safety Achieved Through Multiple Protections

The device features a reliable circuit design with five protection functions: overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent prevention, short circuit protection, and temperature detection. Additionally, it incorporates Thermal Protection, which monitors and controls temperature during power flow to protect connected devices.
