“Chiiil with Karimoku” Concept

The “Chiiil with Karimoku” project, under the concept of “Moderate,” explores “just right and comfortable living” as envisioned by Hitachi GLS and Karimoku Furniture. Appliances, once purchased, become long-term companions in our lives. Therefore, many individuals seek products that offer desirable designs, blend with interiors, and provide functional satisfaction – in essence, something “just right.” However, the definition of “just right” is a value that evolves with each person’s lifestyle. In an era of diverse lifestyles, family structures, and values, choosing what is “just right” for both present and future needs has become increasingly challenging.

This initiative began with the idea that flexibility, expandability, and the joy and ease of choice – qualities that allow for different placements, uses, or changing functional requirements – are what will be sought in the future. To express such adaptability, the project aimed to think beyond the conventional framework of home appliances. Hitachi GLS has integrated the insights and techniques of Karimoku Furniture, experts in interior design, to envision “just right and comfortable living for the future.”
