Bridging Gaming and Home Living
IKEA has announced an exciting new collaboration with the world-renowned gaming brand, Xbox. Starting October 1, 2026, the YXSTABY collection will be available across all IKEA stores, the IKEA online store, and the IKEA app. This collection features nine distinct items designed to ensure that gaming equipment fits harmoniously into the home environment, whether in the living room, kitchen, or shared spaces.
Designed for Seamless Integration
The development process involved a close partnership between designers from both IKEA and Xbox. By combining IKEA’s 80 years of home living expertise with Xbox’s 25 years of insight into how people play, the team focused on creating furniture that serves both the gamer and the people who share their living space. The goal was to move away from “furniture you have to accept for gaming” toward “furniture you want to keep even when you aren’t playing.”

A New Standard for Gaming Spaces
Philip Dilé from IKEA of Sweden emphasized that the role of gaming at home is evolving from a pursuit of achievement to a time for relaxation and connection. Similarly, Carl Ledbetter, Design Lead at Xbox, noted that the collaboration provided a unique opportunity to design the entire home gaming experience, extending beyond the screen to the surrounding environment.
