TOKYO, Japan – June 9, 2026 – LivelyLife Inc. today announced the results of a comprehensive survey on ear cleaning habits and concerns among 200 men and women aged 20 to 70 across Japan. The findings highlight a prevalent anxiety associated with ear cleaning, with a substantial majority expressing a desire for visual guidance during the process.
Key Survey Findings
According to the survey, 78.4% of respondents reported experiencing anxiety during ear cleaning. When asked about the reasons for this anxiety, the top responses were:

These results underscore that the primary challenge in ear cleaning is the inability to visually confirm the process, leading to a sense of unease. Furthermore, 82.1% of respondents indicated that they would feel more confident and safer if they could view the inside of their ears using a smartphone or similar device while cleaning.
