Hisense Japan has announced the upcoming release of its new U88R series of 4K LCD televisions. These models are designed to deliver high-quality visuals and audio for a wide range of content, from terrestrial broadcasts to streaming movies and sports, leveraging MiniLED and Quantum Dot technologies. The U88R series is scheduled for sequential release starting in late May 2026.

1. 2.1.2 Dynamic Surround: Equipped with a 2.1.2 channel audio system with a maximum output of 60W. It features left and right speakers at the bottom, a central subwoofer, and two upward-firing top speakers. This configuration creates 3D audio that sounds like it’s coming from above, not just from the sides. AI sound optimization further maximizes the audio system’s potential, delivering performance beyond its class.

Native 144Hz Game Mode Pro & Gaming Menu: The U88R series incorporates HDMI 2.1, enabling “Game Mode Pro” with ultra-low input lag of approximately 0.83ms for the latest game consoles with 4K 144Hz input. This is ideal for fast-paced games like action, FPS, and fighting games. A new gaming-specific menu allows real-time checks of refresh rate, HDR, and VRR status. Users can easily adjust backlight and dark gamma settings from the menu if dark areas lack detail. An “Aiming Display” feature for FPS games is also included. (Video delay time at 4K/120Hz, 4K/144Hz, 1080p/120Hz, 1080p/144Hz input when “Game” video mode is selected. 4K/120Hz, 4K/144Hz, 1080p/144Hz input is supported only on HDMI input terminals 1 and 2).

   

   

2. HDMI 2.1 Compliance: Supports 4K 144Hz input from HDMI 2.1, reducing flicker and stutter for a stress-free gaming experience. It also automatically switches between low-latency and high-quality modes in conjunction with information from the game console. (Use Premium High-Speed HDMI® cables or Ultra High-Speed HDMI® cables for 4K video signals from external devices).

3. 144Hz VRR (Variable Refresh Rate): This technology reduces screen tearing and stutter caused by mismatches between refresh rates and frame rates, and input lag, ensuring smooth, tear-free gaming visuals. (VRR signal input settings require configuration on the game console side. Not available when “Auto Game Device Settings” is set to “Auto”. This setting is available when HDMI1 or HDMI2 is selected as the external input).

4. ALLM Setting: Automatically switches to low-latency mode settings in conjunction with information from the selected input device. (ALLM setting is required for each HDMI input).

5. AMD FreeSync Premium™ Support: Synchronizes the graphics frame rate (fps) with the TV’s refresh rate (Hz) to reduce stuttering and tearing, providing a smooth and comfortable gaming experience. (AMD FreeSync™ Premium signal input settings require configuration on the game console side. Not available when “Auto Game Device Settings” is set to “Auto”. This setting is available when HDMI1 or HDMI2 is selected as the external input).

Convenient Functions

1. AI Energy: In conjunction with the AI engine and “Omakase Sensor Pro,” the TV automatically adjusts brightness according to ambient light. (Supported in “AI Auto” and “Standard” video modes). With MiniLED, it can also automatically dim the backlight in dark areas, further enhancing energy-saving effects.

2. Anyview Home Server Function: Allows recorded programs on an HDD connected to the main unit in a living room on one floor to be enjoyed on a TV in another room. (Compatible with Hisense TVs sold from 2018 onwards. Requires home network connection. While this function supports DTCP-IP, operation with other manufacturers’ TVs is not guaranteed. Not all devices are guaranteed to work. Only one client TV can be connected).

3. Screen Share: Displays smartphone screens on the TV, allowing users to view photos and videos taken with their smartphones on a large screen. Apple AirPlay2 support enables screen sharing from Apple devices, while Anyview Cast supports screen sharing from some Android™ devices and Windows OS PCs. Compatible with both iPhone and Android™.

   

4. Bluetooth® Support: Connects wireless headphones or other devices to listen to TV audio from a distance, allowing enjoyment of TV without worrying about sound leakage at night.

5. Bluetooth® Enabled Remote Control: Allows remote control operation even when the TV and remote are not in direct line of sight. (To enjoy audio wirelessly with Bluetooth® headphones, the Bluetooth signal must support the “A2DP” audio transmission profile. 10. Simultaneous Recording of Two Programs: Equipped with three tuners for each of terrestrial digital, BS, and CS broadcasts. While watching one program, two other programs from terrestrial digital, BS, or CS can be recorded simultaneously.

    

11. Chapter Function: Allows playback of recorded programs from desired scenes. The TV automatically detects program transitions and creates chapters, enabling quick access to specific scenes. (Supported when a commercially available USB hard disk is connected. Function may not work accurately depending on program and video types).

12. Easy Series Recording: Once a program is set to record, subsequent episodes will be automatically recorded until the final episode, eliminating the need for repeated reservations. This simplifies recording TV dramas and ensures no episodes are missed. It also accommodates time changes due to program extensions.
