Roomba Mini Dominates Market with Over 23% Share

iRobot Japan LLC announced the sales performance of its “Roomba® Mini Vacuuming & Mopping Robot + AutoEmpty™ Charging Station,” launched in late February 2026. The Roomba Mini, recognized as the world’s smallest class (smallest in the domestic market for water-mopping robot vacuums with a main brush as of February 9, 2026, according to iRobot Japan), recorded sales significantly exceeding initial plans, including pre-orders, immediately after its release.
As of March 2026, one month after its launch, the Roomba Mini achieved a market share of over 23% in quantity and over 19% in value within the robot vacuum cleaner category, securing the top position in both metrics, based on iRobot Japan’s research. This performance represents more than double the sales plan. Furthermore, the introduction of the Roomba Mini positively impacted the overall robot vacuum cleaner market, which had seen sluggish growth in recent years, leading to a 22% increase compared to the previous month, according to iRobot Japan’s research as of March 31, 2026. This indicates that the compact Roomba Mini has significantly boosted the entire industry. Further sales expansion and market growth are expected with the full-scale deployment of marketing initiatives from May onwards.
The Roomba Mini was developed specifically for the Japanese market, with Takeshi Yamada, the representative executive officer and president of iRobot Japan, playing a central role. Its compact size and high cleaning performance, embodying the slogan “Small and Powerful,” have been well-received by Japanese users across a wide range of demographics. The product has garnered support from single households and seniors who had not previously considered a robot vacuum cleaner, stimulating new demand. User satisfaction is also notably high, with an average rating of 4.5 on Amazon (including reviews from Vine Voice program customers, according to iRobot Japan’s research as of March 31, 2026).
Regarding the strong sales, Takeshi Yamada stated, “Having operated in Japan for many years, iRobot has been able to develop products that precisely meet the needs of Japanese customers. We will continue to pursue functions and ease of use that genuinely add value to Japanese homes, contributing to a more comfortable life through the provision of products and services.”
Roomba Mini Slim Expands Lineup with Space-Saving Design

The Roomba Mini Slim was also developed to meet the needs of Japanese living environments, which often feature compact residences. With a body size approximately half that of conventional Roomba models (compared to Roomba 105 Combo Robot by volume) and the ability to be stored vertically with the SlimCharge Charging Stand, its installation area is reduced by approximately 85% compared to conventional products (compared to Roomba 105 Combo Robot + AutoEmpty Charging Station). This makes it easy to install even in small spaces like studio apartments or 1K layouts, maximizing effective use of indoor space. Designed as the ultimate compact model focused on space performance, this product has received significant pre-order interest even before its release as an addition to the “Roomba Mini” series, reaffirming the high demand for compact models.
iRobot aims to enable more people to experience the appeal of Roomba through this product, which is well-suited to Japanese living environments, thereby contributing to the realization of comfortable and enriched lives.
